Walt Edman
Serving with CMI
In Asia and Latin America
Serving Since: 1991 (for 10 years as a church-planter among an Unreached People Group in Asia; since then as a trainer of national missionaries).
Type of Service: God is raising up a labor force of gospel workers from the developing world. Walt helps train these national missionaries as they prepare to go to the world’s Unreached People Groups (e.g. Korean missionaries who are being sent to Central Asia; Filipino church planters who are going to North Africa; Brazilian gospel workers who are going to the Middle East).
Passion in Ministry: The Great Commission has been given to us Christians to take the message of salvation in Christ to all People Groups on earth (Matthew 28:18-20). Today there remains 7,000 Unreached People Groups who do not have access to the gospel in their own language and culture. These must be our top priority as we seek to fulfill The Great Commission.
Fun Fact: Walt grew up raising rescued wild animals as pets. Over the years, among various animals, Walt had 24 pet raccoons. He trained them how to hunt for their food and when they were proficient adults, Walt gradually re-introduced them into the wild on the farm where he grew up. In the meantime, they made fun and fascinating pets.
