Merle Wiens

It’s a joy to be the husband of Claudia. God blessed us with two children, now both married, and six grandchildren. We enjoy the spice of different cultures in our marriage and our family. The Valley has been our “home base” since the 1970’s.

Prior to “retirement”, Merle and Claudia served with ReachGlobal for 31 years. They had the privilege of living in three African countries and engaging in various ministry roles. Their daughter and son graduated from an international high school in Nairobi, Kenya. Merle and Claudia continue as volunteers for ReachGlobal, traveling to the continent 1-2 times annually. Here in the East Valley, they enjoy connecting with and teaching English to refugees. And they love being a part of the Chandler Bible Church family.

Merle is a team member of the Elder board and supports the Deaconess team. He is also involved with Missions, children’s ministries, and Feed the Hungry. He desires to steward well the gifts and resources entrusted to him for God’s purposes.

Fun to Know: Merle grew up in a town of less than 100 people.
